Until recently, surgical blepharoplasty (commonly known as eye lift surgery) was the most effective and conventional way to improve the appearance of tired eyes, heavy eyes, hooded eyes and puffy eyes.
Although blepharoplasty is still the gold standard for eye lift surgery, there is a new system known as Plexr that is a non-surgical option.
Plexr is fast becoming the go to option for patients who wish to avoid going under the knife and are looking for a non-surgical eye lift instead.
Plexr is a non-surgical procedure that uses a new ‘plasma technology’. It works by using your own plasma to stimulate an instant contraction and tightening of the skin fibres.
As it is a non-surgical procedure, there is no cutting or stitching or the need to go under general anaesthetic.
How does the Plexr eye lift procedure work?
The Plexr works by transferring a heat to the skin which creates a matrix of dots. The superficial skin cells change from a solid into a gas (a process known as sublimation). The surface of the heated tissue is vaporised and this stimulates as instant contraction and tightening of the skin fibres.
This non-surgical procedure is described as ‘dynamic’ because it gives the unique opportunity for the practitioner to communicate with the patient, asking them to open and close their eyes during the eye lift procedure.
What happens after the eye lift procedure?
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will be quite red and mildly swollen. This can last for up to 3 days. At the site of each dot, a carbon crust will form. These crusts are to be left to come away on their own which usually takes between 5 to 14 days.
How quickly can results been seen?
Most people see noticeable results after the first treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2 – 4 weeks. Patients may require more than one treatment and this is subject personal expectation and practitioner opinion.
How long will the results of the Plexr eye lift procedure last?
Results will typically last for the same amount of time as traditional blepharoplasty surgery but is subject to the number of treatments, your lifestyle and ageing process. You will age as you would otherwise and your skin will continue to relax as part of the ageing process.
How much does the Plexr eye lift procedure cost?
The price of an upper or lower non-surgical treatment plan is £1,100.
Both upper and lower together is £1,700.
Finance options are available and can be discussed at your consultation.
